1928-B-d:113 Double type; large; midseason. Bright crimson, showing a light midrib on outer petals; center incurved, concealing a few stamens; fragrance not notable. Medium height; floriferous; strong stems. Good foliage. Unusually good form for a red peony, and the color is clear and lively. Well liked by many and seems to be on the way to wide popularity. “One of the best of the bright dark reds.”—Saunders. “A wonderfully bright color.”—Boyd.

1953-B130:30 7.4. D. M. Brilliant crimson. Medium height. Strong stems. Often one of the best reds.

1962-W:080 Double. This peony is bright red with golden stamens in the incurving center depression. Small white pistils are inconspicuous. The blooms are average-sized and do not fade. The bush is excellent, growing a little above knee-high with satisfactory stems.
