History

1916-Farr:38 Large, globular, semi-rose type. Pure milk-white. Fragrance XX. Very erect, medium tall, stiff stem, free bloomer. Midseason. Petals very much incurved. A very distinct and beautiful variety. $20.

1918-B006-I:12 1921-B014:14 Symposium II rating: 9.9

1923-SPN:347 1928-B:39 Double. 9.9 (Sym. 1921). White. Double type; very large; early. White, tinged ivory, becoming pure white without markings as it develops; moderately fragrant. Medium height; fairly floriferous; stems usually stiff but occasionally lax at the base. Foliage large, dark green. Its broad, overlapped, incurving petals and compact form make this one of the most perfect peonies, but the flowers are not always profusely borne, and they are not uniformly perfect. When good, it is the acme of quality, but there are some seasons when it is not up to standard. “With me a regular and abundant bloomer.”—Saunders. “Seems to do much better in the East than the West. Likes a heavy clay soil. When well grown and well shown, no other peony can compare with it. With me it is wonderfully fine and very reliable.”—Boyd.

1939-RL:06 Double. 9.90, White.

1962-W:080 Double. Broad, incurving and overlapping, thin, ivory-white petals form a compact, sunken-centered flower with a pale yellow tint. Weak stems and long, deep green leaves. A delicate and fragile variety, when successfully grown it is one of the most valued peonies. Rather early.

1976-K:053 (Lemoine, 1907) – Double – White – Early. Medium height. Moderate fragrance. Very large. White, tinged ivory, becoming pure white without markings as it develops; fairly floriferous; stems usually stiff, but occasionally lax at the base. Foliage large, dark green. Its broad overlapped, incurving petals and compact form make this one of the most perfect peonies, but the flowers are not always profusely borne, and they are not uniformly perfect. When good, it is the acme of quality, but there are some seasons when it is not up to standard. M.
